c) Knowledge of Yati & Jati

UNIT-2

a) General study of the instruments are used in Bengali folk

b) Tribal percussion instruments   and their strucral particulars:- Wakhap, Kham, Lebang, Dang- Da- Darang

c) Knowledge of some South Indian tala Instruments

d) Life sketchs:- Pandit Bhankende, Pandit Paluisjar, Pulin Debbarma

SEMESTER -3, PAPER-3(THEORY)

UNIT-1

a) Description & study  of the various parts of Tabla

b)  Knowledge of how to produce Varnas in Tabla

c) Detailed study of Bhatkande talalipi & Paluskar Talalipi system

 UNIT-2

a) Method of writing in notation- barabar, digun, chougun, adi laya(barabar & in one abartan)

b) Definition of Talla , theka,abhanadhya vadya, quida, rela, param

c) Life sketch:- Sidhar Khan, Pt. Ram Sahai

                       

B.MUS(pass) TABLA -4

SEMESTER -4, PAPER-4(Theory)

UNIT-I

1. Method of writing in Bhatkhande Nototion.

Ektal and dhamar tal in digun & chougun.

2.Ability to write in notation the dhamar and choutal in Adi digun and chougun laya by giving mathematical calculation.

3. Comparative study of Rabindrik tals with Hindustani tal(Bhatkhande).

UNIT-II

1.Compositions of Dambar & bedambar tihai with the help of Mathematical calculation .

2.Life sketch- Ustad Siddhar Khan.

3. Detailed discussion about the Rabindrik Tal.

SEMESTER -5, PAPER-5(Theory)

Unit-I

1. Study of the Origin of Tabla.

2. Ability to write the Quida in Teental with paltas

3. Ability to write in notation the Vilaba ektal and Jhoomra tal (48 & 56 matras)

UNIT-II

1. Detailed knowledge of the origin of Gharana and also the study of Delhi gharana and its baj

2. Study about the Guru-Shishya parampara and the place of Music in General Education.
